Even though it’s just as filling, if not more, there’s something so much more exciting about 3 small “slider” sandwiches, than 1 big sandwich. On a mission to track down the perfect sandwich trio, we decided to check out Slider Inn.
Claiming the cross hairs of Peabody and Cooper, Slider Inn is tucked away in the center of Midtown. Bardog Tavern owner, Aldo Martino, opened the restaurant in 2011. Often deemed “The Best Patio in Midtown”, Slider Inn has an awesome covered wood deck accompanied with picnic tables, dinnerware buckets, and menus. The inside is just as relaxing, with a dimly lit atmosphere, tufted booths and tables, a small bar, and a chalk board bar menu. We went at lunch and it was a perfect place for a work break. We hear at night, though, it is much more lively and you might want to consider hiring a sitter for a grown ups night out.
I was surprised at how extensive the menu was, considering the dimensions of it. Flying in lobster 3 times a week, Slider Inn was the first place to serve a lobster roll in Memphis. They also serve lobster salad and lobster bisque. Slider Inn changes its special daily, and it’s always under $10. Being a vegetarian myself, it’s always nice to see a menu that recognizes our needs. Slider Inn has several veggie options, in addition to its beefy burgers.
Between three of us, we had the falafel, mushroom and swiss, BLT, chick-n-fill-ay, and blue cheese with caramelized onions; and OHMG. There’s more flavor in just one of these tiny little bites, than I experience in whole meals. I had the falafel, and it was crispy to perfection, topped with fresh hummus and dill sauce. Breezy had the chick-n-fil-ay and enjoyed it so much, she went back the next day for dinner.
Slider Inn got 6 thumbs up from our lunch crew. Slide on in and check it out for yourself!
