If you’ve heard a buzz building lately around Overton Square, it’s about to get a whole lot louder.
Today Resource Entertainment Group announced the launch of Thursdays Squared, a fresh new live music experience happening this summer at the Tower Courtyard (Trimble Place and Florence Street) on Thursday nights beginning April 17.
- WHAT: Thursdays Squared
- WHERE: Tower Courtyard at Overton Square (adjacent to parking garage)
- WHEN: 6 to 11 p.m. Thursdays, April 17 – August 28
- WHY TO GO: Live bands, wine and beer sales, giveaways and more
Think: block party with all your friends! The covers will be affordable ($5 to $15 depending on the headlining band), beer and wine will be for sale and there will be ample parking in the parking garage.
Party Planet will take the stage on April 17 with a list of special guests including Patrick Dodd (from NBC’s The Voice), Al Kapone, Ruby Wilson and more. Each event will feature giveaways, contests and special guest stars.
“We really see this as a great opportunity to put some long-time favorites on the line-up right alongside up-and-comers,” says Rollin Riggs, partner at REG. “Thursdays Squared will absolutely be about the experience and the great vibe of Overton Square. You’ll see a band you know one week and discover something new the next week, and the atmosphere will be fresh, fun and totally Memphis.”
The cover for the inaugural event will be just $5 and the party gets started at 6 p.m. at the Tower Courtyard.
